Music Director

As a musical director, Sophie believes having good relationships with your fellow production team and cast members is fundamental to achieving harmony in a production.
Sophie’s combined skills as a conductor, vocal coach, accompanist and performer allows her to guide performers through rehearsals having a sound knowledge of what diligence and musicianship is required to achieve high class performances.
Sophie has received two Green Room Nominations for her work on Mary Bryant (2007 Magnormos) and Flowerchildren: The Story of the Mams and the Papas (2011 Magnormos).
Sophie was vocal coach and musical director for productions at Carey Baptist Grammar for eight years and has musically directed and coached many cabarets and performances around Melbourne.
Her other musical direction and vocal coaching credits include The Hatpin, The Thing About Men, Better than Broadway, Title of Show (Magnormos), Chicago, Grease, Les Miserables, Into the Woods, 42nd Street, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Calamity Jane, Anything Goes, Sweet Charity and Fiddler on the Roof (Carey Grammar).
She is currently the associate musical director at Magnormos.
